HOMEMADE GOLDEN MILK

Golden milk is a combination of turmeric powder mixed together with coconut milk and coconut oil. According to several books and magazines turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory that exhibits over 150 potentially therapeutic activities, including antimicrobial activity as well as potent anti-cancer properties. Personally, I prefer having a golden milk every once in a while, sometimes in the morning, sometimes before I go to bed. I prefer 2% milk, unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk.

LOW-INTENSITY STEADY STATE CARDIO

Low-Intensity Steady State cardio – short LISS – stands for any type of cardio exercise where you maintain the same low-intensity cardio pace (steady state) for a given period of time. Walking on the treadmill or outside whilst maintaining a steady state for 35 minutes is one form of LISS training, another one could be steady cycling either on a spin-cycle bike or outdoors, steady rowing or using cardio equipment at the gym, for example the elliptical trainer at a steady and moderate pace.

Working in a corporate job, sitting at a desk for several hours a day is one of the reasons why people are getting medical and health related issues. Small changes, practiced consistently over a long period of time, are the best way to increase health and well-being.

WATER – THE ESSENTIAL INGREDIENT FOR LIFE

Water is absolutely essential. You could probably survive for weeks without food. But you can live only a few days without water. Humans have no capacity to store “spare” water, so we must quickly replace any that’s lost. Overall, water makes up between 45 and 75 percent of a person’s weight. Leaner people have proportionately more water because muscle tissue is nearly three-fourths water by weight, whereas adipose tissue is only about 10% water. The one bit of chemistry that almost everyone can rattle off is the chemical formula for water: H2O. Water is such a simple molecule that people often do not appreciate its extraordinary physical and chemical properties.
