Granola is one of my favorite things to eat when I’m at home. It is healthy, easy to make and delicious. I use my homemade granola mixture as a topping for my greek yoghurt with fresh, seasonal fruits or plain with milk. Before you buy your granolas at a store, you might consider next time to try this recipe or play around with different ingredients and create your own. Try to use ingredients that you already have at home, therefore you don’t need to spend money on other stuff and you won’t waste food. My recipe is easy and quick, also if stored in an airtight container it should last up to 10 days.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups rolled Oats
  • 1 cup shredded/unsweetened coconut
  • 1 cup raw almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Goji berries
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup golden flaxseeds
  • 1/3 cup buckwheat
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Method:

  1. Place all of the ingredients in huge mixing bowl, add cinnamon and honey (or maple syrup) and mix together until well combined
  2. Place the mixtures on a backing sheet and bake for 25-35 minutes until golden brown
  3. Remove backing sheet from oven, stir well and let the granola cool down on a separate tray
  4. Store in an airtight container
