Some mornings are not going as planned and therefore we might think about skipping breakfast, maybe even grabbing an unhealthier snack on our way to work. If you prepare yourself for days like this in advance you can still find a few minutes to make this healthy option. I love a good breakfast smoothie filled with lots of nutrient rich foods such as oats, nuts, soy milk and bananas. This recipe is my go to morning smoothie if I’m on the run or simple don’t feel the need for a bigger meal. My breakfast smoothie is simple and quick if you have frozen bananas in your freezer, soy milk in the fridge and nuts, cacao powder and cinnamon in your cabinets – then there is no excuse to skip your breakfast. Make this smoothie and fill it in a reusable cup and you are good to go.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional/chocolate flavor)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup raw almonds
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 3 ice cubes

Method:

  1. Place all of the ingredients in the same order as posted above into a high speed blender
  2. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides if needed
